Grande Island Resort was once an island fortress four centuries ago. In 1976, the island fortress was made into Grande Island recreation Center that is open to military personnel and their dependents. It was established as a family recreation center. Presently, Grande Island Resort is a world-class resort.

The resort has 80 chalet rooms with private verandas. The location of the chalets lets the guests enjoy the refreshing breeze from the sea. The bathrooms are well-appointed with black marble walls and countertops and a sophisticated shower system with multi-directional nozzles to point the streams of water at your body in varying angles.  Each chalet has white walls and is decorated in warm reds and natural colored rattan headboards and furniture. Ten ore hotel rooms are also available. These ten rooms come with two big queen-sized beds, air conditioning, mini refrigerator and a private bathroom but without the added comfort of a private veranda and more convenient access to the beach. Perfect for guests looking for basic comfortable accommodations at a budget price.  There is also the Honeymoon Suite that is exclusive for couples and VIPs only. The suite comes with a private pool, Jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms.

Dining at Grande Island Resort is not a problem. The Grande Island Lobby offers Continental and Filipino breakfast. It also serves pastas and sandwiches. Wherever your appetite leads you, enjoying all your meals here will be even more pleasurable because you’ll be having them right beside the wide, blue and breezy expanse of Subic Bay. The Orchid Garden restaurant offers excellent Chinese cuisine. It is located between the hotel and the chalets. Large groups of up to ten adults or more will enjoy choosing among complete Lauriat set menus featuring soup, five or six beef, pork, seafood, chicken, vegetable or noodle dishes and a sweet dessert that will put big smiles on their faces afterwards.

There are five function rooms at the resort that can accommodate seminars, conferences, product launches and other corporate events. Weddings and private parties can also be held at these rooms. Each room is fully air-conditioned with complete facilities to suit every occasion.

The M/V Princess Kat is one of Grande’s marine vessels. It can accommodate a private party of up to 70 persons and is suitable for intimate gatherings such as weddings and birthday parties as well as late afternoon cocktails.

Water lovers will surely enjoy the sand, sea and sun at the resort’s pristine beaches. Water sports like snorkeling, banana boat riding, water biking, kayaking and parasailing can be experienced here. There are also other water towable rides such as the mambo duo and chariot which two to three people can ride and have the time of their lives in being towed at fast speeds by a speedboat. Life vests are provided for guests’ safety.

For landlubbers, ATV (All terrain Vehicle) driving can be done around the island and forest. Along the way they will see Battery Woodruff & Hall (6-inch guns), remnants of the Americans’ military presence on Grande Island during the Second World War.  Beach volleyball, billiards, darts, chess, nature trekking and fishing are also options you can explore.

Book your company’s next team building activity at Grande Island Resort and take advantage of our new Extreme Challenge Obstacle Course. The 10-step sequenced course will certainly put you through the paces and test the limits of your physical agility. Taken together with the Island’s other recreational facilities, your people will never forget the camaraderie they will enjoy with each other. A sure-fire way to build lasting memories and stronger team spirit for your company.

Other services of the resort are free WiFi access, soothing Swedish massage and sing-along every night at the Orchid garden poolside patio.

Grande Island Resort is a 2.5 hour drive from Manila passing through the old route using the San Fernando exit from NLEX.  However, with the re-opening of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, travel time has been reduced to only 1.5 hours from Balintawak, Quezon City, Metro Manila to Subic. The resort can also be reached by ferry boats.
