The Banaue Hotel and Youth Hostel is a terrific option for accommodations in Banaue. Separate men’s and women’s wings are available at very low rates in the Youth Hostel building, or you can book a private room in the newer, 5-story wing.

Private rooms at the Banaue Hotel are fully carpeted, well furnished and feature private balconies with scenic views of the Rice Terraces. There is a restaurant, cocktail lounge and coffee shop on site. Book your accommodations at HotelsCombined.com to get the best rates available for your travel dates.

The Banaue Rice Terraces were created centuries ago by the Ifugao tribe. These 100 square mile, stone-walled terraces can be viewed and photographed from a variety of locations in and around Banaue. Hire a car or tricycle to visit the Rice Terraces in person.

You will also want to visit Banaue Viewpoint during your stay in Banaue. This spot high on a plateau about 4 km north of town provides spectacular views of the Rice Terraces and the surrounding area. The Banaue Viewpoint is approximately a 20-minute car ride from the Banaue Hotel.

In addition to viewing the incredible scenery in Banaue, you can get to know the indigenous people that live here. Tam-an is an Ifugao village located just a short stroll from the Banaue Hotel. One of the most intriguing sites at Tam-an is the bundled bones of the village’s ancestors, preserved and wrapped up in brightly colored, hand-woven blankets. You can purchase beads, wood carvings and other items from the villagers here. Poitan is another Ifugao mountain village you may wish to visit that is a short drive from the Banaue Hotel.

The center of the town of Banaue is about a 20 minute walk from Banaue Hotel. Here you can browse a variety of shops and purchase souvenirs. Saturdays, a large market is held in the center of town.
These are just a few of the attractions you will want to explore on a trip to Banaue. Allow yourself at least a few days to explore this delightful area of the Cordilleras on your Philippines vacation.
