The Grandest Sinulog Festival 2009 of Cebu City
One of the biggest and popular festival in the Philippines and is the most awaited by all, the Sinulog Festival will is set to take the center stage this coming January 18, 2009 in Cebu City Philippines. The Sinulog Festival 2009 is the grandest and the most anticipated festival in Central Visayas. The Sinulog Festival will again display its glorious and exciting celebration in honor of the Holy Child Jesus, The Santo Nino under “One beat, One dance, One vision”. Cebu City will celebrate the Sinulog Festival 2009 with many activities that are lined up by the organizers and local government from January 9-18, 2009 with the main event, the Sinulog Grand Parade.
The Sinulog Foundation, Cebu City local government and the people of Cebu has prepared this festival with many exciting activities. Visitors especially the balikbayans, foreigners and locals will enjoy and experience the bombardment of excitement from the beginning of the celebration up to the end especially the highlights — The Sinulog Grand Parade on January 18, 2009. Some other highlights in the festivities of the Sinulog Festival 2009 are the Sinulog Photo Exhibits in Mactan Airport, Ayala, SM City and Emal (Jan. 5), Sinulog sa Kabataan—Lalawigan (Jan. 10), Sinulog sa Kabataan—Dakbayan (Jan. 11), Sinulog Festival Queen (Jan. 16), nightly programs like Cultural Shows and Street Party bands at Fuente Osmeña.
In the Sinulog Grand Parade where contingents will be dancing in the streets of Cebu City with their colorful and spectacular costumes, local and foreign visitors will experience better performance because of the new concepts and productions that the contingents has prepared. There are already many contingents who lready confirmed to join the Sinulog Festival 2009 to show their prowness in The Sinulog Dancing under the beat of the drums. Some of the contingents are Sangyaw Festival of Tacloban City in Dulag, Leyte; Contigents from Cabadbaran City, Tangub City and Lanao Del Norte; Alikaraw Festival of Hilongos Leyte; Pintaflores of San Carlos City; Buyugan Festival of Abuyog and Jimalalud de Sinulog.
The Beauties of the Cebu Sinulog Festival 2009 will also be displayed in the pageant night The Ms. Cebu on January 14, 2009 at 8:00 in the evening at the Cebu Waterfront Hotel. Beautiful maidens in Cebu City aging from 16-24 will show their beauty, great assets and skills.
