Philippines is a Premier Surfing Destination

Philippines is known world wide to have many beautiful white sand beaches, magnificent dive sites, cultural and historical heritage and many natural attractions that could attract tourist. But the Department of Tourism (DoT) also discovered that the country is also a haven of surfing sites. Philippines have a coastline that is twice as long as the United States, with wonderful beaches that are powered by a living and breathing ocean, the country has a very big potential to become as an international surfing destination. the Department of Tourism (DoT) is exploring the places that has big potential for surfing spots.

The Department of Tourism (DoT) is campaigning to make Philippines as premier surfing destination. Now it is beginning to get recognition because surfers around the world is coming here in the country to explore the majestic waves of the country. In this, Philippines has slowly securing a place in the surfing world. It is a matter of time that Philippines will make it’s legendary mark on international surf-lore.

The country’s local surfing industry with it’s community of local surfer’s are growing and exploring the potential and numerous opportunities with the cooperation of the Department of Tourism of how it can boost the Philippine Tourism and make our country as a premier surfing destination.

Freddy Gonzalez of Aloha Board Sports Inc. with its Surf Team and Local surfers plans to surf across the country’s notable surfing destinations that includes Badoc Island in Ilocos Norte, Baler in Aurora, Catanduanes, Daet in Camarines Norte, La Union, Pagudpud, Samar, Siargao Island, Cabugao in Ilocos Sur and Zambales. These are the some of the country’s top and known surf-spots. There are still surfing sites that are yet to be discovered.

This plan to explore and discover the country’s top surfing destination and tourism is supported by Ace Durano of the Department of Tourism who is also an honorary Aloha Boardsports Surf Team member.

The majestic waves of the surfing spot is the new wave of tourism in the Philippine that will bring different kind of tourist to the Philippine shores. Surfing is a unique tourist attraction that will bring Philippines and can secure a place on the international tourism map.

    there is no surfspot per se in bacolod. that’s why surfer wanna be are inclined to do skim boarding instead. how sad.
