Pangasinan Philippines: Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos

The Hundred Islands National Park covers a land area of 1,884 hectares with 123 islands. Of these islands, only three are developed for tourists. They are the Governor’s Island, Quezon Island and the Children’s Island. The Govenor’s Island has a guesthouse which is ideal for families. The guesthouse has two bedrooms, a living room, toilet and bath and kitchen. The guesthouse also comes with linens, water (4 drums), generator lighting, ceiling fans and dining and cooking utensils. The Children’s Island has bahay kubos (nipa hut) that are ideal for budget travelers. The bahay kubos consists only of screened bedrooms with kerosene lighting and one drum of fresh water and linens. Common areas are provided for dining and cooking as well as toilet and bath. Quezon Island is for picnickers and campers. The Hundred Islands National Park is located in Barangay Lucap, Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Philippines.

At the mainland which is Lucap Point, the main building has a conference room and accommodation facilities. A tower-type building near the Lucap Park housed an Information/Business Center at the ground floor which controls the flow of tourists to the said Islands.  Facilities like briefing room with audio-visual equipment, picnic sheds and tables, showers and restrooms are also available as well as facilities for boat rides, scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing.

The park can be reached by bus. Public bus lines, namely Victory Liner, Five Star, and Philippine Rabbit have scheduled rides from Manila, Baguio, Dagupan, Subic, Tarlac and Zambales bound straight to Alaminos City and vice versa. From the terminal, either by private vehicle or tricycle, the Lucap Wharf is only a 10 to 15-minute ride away. You can find boats bound for the islands docked near the Wharf, with the Hundred Islands National Park Center staff eager to assist you with information and other things you’ll need for your island adventure. The nearest islands from the Lucap Wharf are Sulpot Island, Monkey Island, Abad Santos Island and Hernandez Island, which are all 15 to 20 minutes away. The major islands, Children’s, Governor’s and Quezon can be reached after a 25 to 45-minute boat ride.
