Palawan Philippines: Sangat Island Reserve in Sangat Island Busuanga

Sangat Island Reserve is an eco-resort which will change the way how visitors think about and enjoy vacations by providing guests with a relaxing natural experience as an antidote to their stressful everyday life.
The resort has ten individual cottage-style accommodations that are all made using local materials. All cottages offer exquisite views over the beach and Bay of Coron. Full decks on the cottages provide lovely views of the horizon in the day and the stars at night. there are beachfront cottages and cliff side cottages. All cottages have full bathroom and shower facilities. In order to minimize damage to the ground cover, all cottages are built on stilts with overhanging decks and hammocks for daytime relaxation. For real nature lovers, the resort offers the Lambingan Villa which is located on its own private beach next to the Sangat Island Reserve. The only access to Lambingan is by boat or hanging footbridge connecting the resort beach and the Villa beach. Guests staying there are provided with their own kayak.
Sangat Island Reserve’s beach side restaurant offers international cuisine served buffet style. Guests will always be served a combination of fresh seafood delicacies and meats, vegetables, salads and fruits. The bar serves cocktails, international wines as well as the famous local beer. The bar closes when the last guest leaves.
The natural beaches of Sangat and surrounding islands and fresh water lakes of Coron Island provide guests with a wide variety of exquisite swimming opportunities. The beachfront setting provides easy access to snorkeling as well as boating activities. Guests can swim out to a wonderful snorkeling spot on the Sangat house reef or take a kayak and paddle to the coral garden around the corner. You don`t necessarily have to be a diver to discover the wrecks of Coron. There are some wrecks like the Sangat Gunboat or the Lusong Gunboat in snorkeling depth. The resort has a wide variety of boats available for use. Island hopping, picnicking and sunset and sunrise cruising are also available. Wind surfing is also available especially in peak season which is from December to March. The resort also offers trekking and bird watching. After an active day, a nice relaxing massage will be great. Upon request, guests can also have a native physiotherapeutic treatment. There is no need to stop training even if you’re on a vacation because the resort has an open air gym which has the basic equipments for working out.
From Manila, the easiest way to get to Sangat Island is by taking a short local flight from the domestic terminal of Manila International Airport to the island of Busuanga. Representative from the resort will meet guests at Busuanga Airport and then drive them through the forests of Busuanga Island to Coron Bay where the resort’s private boat will pick guests up and take them on the final leg of their journey to Sangat Island. On arrival guests will be able to relax and enjoy a fresh coconut from one of the many coconut palms while the resort staff will carry the luggage to the beach side cottage. Charter flights are also available upon request.
