Leyte Philippines: Leyte Park Resort Hotel in Tacloban City

Leyte Park Resort Hotel offers the discovery of various eco-tourism based tour activities anchored on its marine and terrestrial boundaries. The resort was built by former First Lady, Imelda Marcos in 1979 and was later refurbished in 1994. The resort is now a major tourism and convention complex with its six hectares of parkland nestled on a hill overlooking the beautiful San Pedro Bay.
For fine dining experience, the resort hotel has Veranda Cafe which is located on the second floor. The Veranda Cafe is the resort’s main restaurant and offers International cuisine. The breathtaking view of the mountains and the sea can be seen here. The San Pedro Bay Seafoods Restaurant is located at the resort’s marina. This specialty restaurant offers the bounty of the sea. Cultural presentations of Philippine and Leyte-Samar songs and dances are available by arrangement for parties here. The Lana Lynn Catamaran will take guests on a leisurely dinner cruise over the San Pedro Bay. The restaurant offers American and Canadian cuisine. Bookings for private parties can be accommodated. The Pool Patio offers snacks and frozen delights to guests as they laze in the sun by the pool side. For coffee addicts, there is the Park cafe which offers espresso base, flavorful and satisfying coffee.
Other facilities at the resort are the business center which has computers connected to the world wide web. Photocopy and fax are also available here. The gift shop is open daily from 9am to 6pm. all kinds of souvenirs can be bought here. Even if on vacation, fitness buffs can sweat it out in the resort’s fitness center which operates from 1-9 pm daily except on Sundays. Conferences and banquets are accommodated in the resort’s two convention centers. The Don Joseph Pavilion has a built-in dance floor and is fully air-conditioned. The President’s Hall is ideal for small receptions of up to 70 persons. The Hall is fully air-conditioned and overlooks the panoramic view of Mount Danglay and San Pedro Bay.
Leyte Park Resort Hotel has special tour packages which are exciting day trips and inclusive of transportation, drinks, entrance fee and other essential needs. There is the Marabut marine Park beach tour. This is a six-hour trip to enjoy island hopping and sight-seeing of towering rock islands and secluded beach coves. Guests will enjoy kayaking and snorkeling. The Sohoton Caves national Park tour lasts six to seven hours. This tour package will let guests see the centuries-old stalactites and stalagmites then kayak their way to the Sohoton Natural Bridge. this is an archeological site where stone-age relics were found. There is also a side trip to the 17th century Basey Church that was built during the Spanish era. The San Juanico Strait Cruise takes two hours and will take guests to a leisurely cruise over the San Juanico Strait which is the world’s narrowest navigable body of water. The cruise offers an exhilarating view of nature’s bounty in Tacloban City. The City and Environs tour package lasts for three hours. This tour offers sightseeing from historic monuments to fabulous museums like the Sto. Niño Shrine and Heritage Museum, McArthur Memorial Park, Marjorie’s Garden at Eagle’s Peak thru San Juanico Bridge. The War Memorial tour package will last for eight hours. This tour include visits to the world famous Leyte Gulf Landing memorial Shrine, the hills of battle in Palo, Dulag, Capoocan and Ormoc. A side trip to the Leyte State University is also included. The resort is located in the heart of Tacloban City which is only fifty-five minutes away from Manila by plane. The resort can also be reached by land. Bus and V-Hire (vans for hire) are available twenty-four hours daily.
