Lago del Rey: Latest Man-Made Tourist Attraction in Camarines Sur Philippines

In Camarines Sur, there is another man-made tourist attraction the New Boat lake park that is located beside the world-class Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC) that will boast tourism in the region. This new and latest tourism attraction is a new Boat lake park. The “Lago del Rey” (King’s Lake) is the new sprawling man-made lake that offers affordable family watersports entertainment. This tourist attraction in Bicol has opened last February with the Aqua Fest Celebrity Challenge to be graced by a star-studded cast of showbiz personalities.

The Lago del Rey, the new tourist attraction, is again the idea of Governor LRay Villafuerte. This man-made lake is a venue that is intented to balance the CWC’s extreme sports attraction in Camarines Sur. It has a world class tourist facility for a the whole family who wants to enjoy watersports activities together. The facilities in here are giant water slides, kayaking, dragon boating, swimming, water tubing, aqua wall climbing, water volleyball, paddle boarding, boat-towed wake boarding, wake kite and skiing, water polo, sailing, aqua obstacle course and rowing. If the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex is extreme then this new Lago del Rey is wholesome. If you have kids, then you don’t have to worry because the Lago del Rey have Kids’ Activity Center that will provide suitable water-oriented sports and entertainment activities for children.

The Lago del Rey has been opened last February 26-28 and was attented by showbiz personalities such as Joey Maquez, Michelle Madrigal, Anne Curtis, Richard Gomez, Bobby Yan, John Estrada, Marian Rivera, Say Alonzo, Bubbles Paraiso, Raymund Gutierrez, Priscilla Meirelles, Kapuso (GMA) and Kapamilya (ABS-CBN) stars and others. These celebrities tried the excitement and adventure of amenities and facilities that the newest tourist attraction, Lago del Rey, has to offer. A water-based contest and vast array entertainment were featured in the three day Aqua Fest’s Celebrity Challenge.

The local government and the Governor Villafuerte expects that this newest tourist attraction, The Lago del Ray will boost up Camarines Sur’s tourism industry. In this new facility, it adds up to the province reputation as the tourism haven in the Philippines. Right now, two world-renowned tourist spots is hosted by Camarines Sur, the Camarines Sur Waterports Complex and the Gota Village Resort in Caramoan Peninsula. The Lago del Ray is expected to increase the arrival of tourist in this province.

Observers believed that Villafuerte’s innovative and bold tourism thrusts will make the province as Asia’s watersports capital.
