Mount Pinatubo’s volcanic explosion in 1991 was a huge natural catastrophe felt around the globe. It devastated the central plain of Luzon and wiped out towns and communities, especially those of the tribal Aetas. Over the past fifteen years, the vast desert lands left by the explosion became challenging volcanic lahar frontiers, best left to brave trekkers and explorers. But following a trend around the world, a Korean eco-tourism project is bringing the benefits of natural mud treatments to the foothills of Pinatubo mountain.

Palawan’s Subterranean River Represents Philippines in New7Wonders of Nature

It’s official that out very own Palawan’s Puerto Princesa Subterranean Underground River National Park will represent Philippines to the world and will be our bet in the search for the New7Wonders of Nature. The official results of the first phrase of voting was released in the New7Wonders Foundation headquarters.

Biak-na-Bato is located on the edge of Bulacan near San Miguel, about two hours drive from Manila. You can arrange to take a guided trip to this incredible Park, spend several hours touring some of its spectacular caves, and return to your hotel in Manila in the evening.
