Subic Bay Freeport Philippines has unique features that will naturally excel in adventure tourism. Because Subic Bay has beautiful natural theme parks, world renowned undersea wrecks and world War II relics, pristine jungle and unspoiled bay, subic is naturally ready to be promoted as eco-tourism and adventure tours.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Administrator Armand Arreza said that since day one, Subic had these adventure attractions since day one because of the well preserved environment. Armand Arreza also said that the local government of Subic also keep on improving these natural attractions ever since. He also added “If tourists would come looking for some adventure during their vacation, Subic is ready and raring to give them some.”

Subic already has its own advantage in adventure tourism and is ready to be promoted anytime. The Department of Tourism (DOT) set its sights on a nationwide campaign to promote eco-tourism and adventure tours in the country and make the Philippines the best adventure destination in Asia. The Program that was under the initiative of DOT Secretary Joseph Ace Durano the “Adventure Philippines Campaign” also seeks to provide tourism stakeholders an overview of the outdoor recreation industry, along with the benefits for generating more employment. This program also aims to foster networking capacity and working relationship between travel service providers and suppliers.

A seminar will be conducted on adventure tourism by DOT at the Hotel Stotsenberg in the Clark Freeport Zone on June 3 to 5. On the last day of the seminar, an actual adventure travel to Subic Bay Freeport’s rainforests is set so that the participants will visit Subic jungle-themed parks, its wildlife sanctuary and experience the jungle adventure facilities here like “canopy ride” and “slide for life.”

The local government and DOT wanted to put Subic on the map let the world know that tourist will experience have one of kind adventure vacation thay will have here in the Philippines especially here in Subic Bay. It also started accreditaion programs for hotels and other tourism establishments in Subic to raise standards to world-class levels. Hotels and tourism establishments here in Subic bay also upgrades and improve the facilities and services so that it will complement the outdoor adventure attractions. This is an initiative that has been done in the past two years to create positive awareness for foreign visitors.

One of the great improvement that SBMA has done is the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), a 94-kilometer four-lane highway that connects Subic to the neighboring Clark Freeport and other industrial areas in Northern Luzon. This will attract more local and foreign visitors and will boast up SBMA Tourism.

The big move of SBMA and DOT’s Adventure Philippines campaign will be an increase in Philippine tourism in Subic with the help of SCTEx which give an easy access to Subic Bay plus the unexplored and unexploited jungles, beautiful beaches and park that are waiting to be explored.
