The world famous Ati-Atihan Festival known to be the mother of all Philippine festival is fast approaching and people in Kalibo Aklan are busy preparing. The Ati-Atihan Festival is a three day of exciting and festive revelry and street dancing celebration that starts from January 18 to 20, 2008. The beat of the drums, the distinctive tune of the lyre, the street dancing of the participants in a colorful tribal costume and the people that shouts "HALA BIRA" and "VIVA KAY SEŅOR SANTO NIŅO" awaits tourist, visitors and devotees in this three days of festivities.

In this year Ati-Atihan Festival 2008, it promise a very more colorful and exciting. Tourists, visitors and devotees will have their experience of the lifetime in this non-stop action in the Ati-Atihan Festival celebration. In the festivities, Kalibo Aklan will showcase the rich cultural traditions, values and religiosity of the locals.

In line with the Ati-Atihan Festival 2008, several programs and activities are already prepared by the Kalibo Aklan local government and the Ati-Atihan Festival organizers. There are various trade and fairs that are organized to showcase the products and crafts of the locals. These are the collection of crafts, arts and literary works that visitors and tourist can see. There are variety of of floral, garden and agricultural products, handicrafts, woodcrafts, metalcrafts and many more. Traders, manufacturers, producers from all over the province converge to the call of the Ati-Atihan Celebration.

In the Ati-Atihan Festival 2008 celebration, the local government and organizers has taken great efforts to make this years celebration very exciting, colorful and a very memorable one that visitors and tourist will never forget. Local government, organizers and people of Kalibo Aklan welcomes everyone to witness the very colorful and enchanced Ati-Atihan costumes of the street dancers and a lot of events that have been added in this years celebration.
