Malaybalay Bukidnon is going to celebrated the Kaamulan
Festival 2008 this coming March and people in Bukidnon
are busy preparing for this exciting festival. Kaamulan
Festival is one of the Mindanao's colorful festival that
everybody is awaiting for. Kaamulan Festival is an
ethnic festival that festures the 7 tribes of Bukidnon,
the Pineapple Capital of the Philippines. The seven
hills tribes of Bukidnon are Tala-andig, Higaonon,
Umayamnon, Manobo, Tiwahanon, Matigsalug and Bukidnon.
The Kaamulan Festival is celebrated together with
Bikidnon's Foundation day. Kaamulan is an indigenous
Bukidnon term for gathering.
Kaamulan Festival 2008 will be celebrated with rituals
that showcased the tribal culture of Bukidnon. There
will be lots of exciting events in this 2008 celebration
of Kaamulan Festivals. From February to March 18, there
will be trade fairs, garden shows, food fest, bazaar,
live stock shows, agri-fair, sports, rodeo and horse and
of course the ever exciting and heart beating street
dancing.
The Kaamulan Festival 2008 grand opening will be on
February 29, 2008. Other major events include the
Pamuhat, a Bukidnon ritual (4 a.m.), Ethnic Street
Dancing (7 a.m.) and Kaamulan Rodeo (1 p.m.) on March 8;
and Bukidnon’s 91st Foundation Day Parade (7 a.m.) on
March 10. |
