Perfumes are available in many concentrations. The concentration of oils in the fragrance is the way to classify the type of perfume like:
Perfume or parfum: This has the highest concentration of oils, from 15 to 40%. This is the purest form,the most expensive and last the longest.
Eau de parfum: This has 7 to 15% concentration. This is the most popular in the market and also the most common type of perfume that provides a long-lasting fragrance but does not cost as much as parfum.
Eau de toilette: This has 1 to 6% concentration. This makes a light scent that does not last long.
Cologne: This type lasts for only up to two hours since it only has 3 to 5% concentration.
