Preventing Skin from Dryness

A dry skin will give you a dull, withered and wrinkled look. Here are some tips to a more healthy looking skin:
- Avoid using harsh soap on your skin, specially your face. It can dry your skin fast and worse, may cause allergies to erupt on your skin. harsh soaps can also strip your skin of its natural oils that make the skin supple.
- Twice a day washing of your face is enough. Washing too many times will strip the skin of its natural oils.
- Try applying some oil on your body before you take a bath. Wait for some time to let your body absorb the oil.
- Avoid scrubbing your skin vigorously while bathing and do not rub too hard with your towel after taking a bath.
- Apply moisturizers and/or lotion after taking a bath to prevent it from drying.
- Exfoliate your skin regularly to remove dead cells but again moderation is the key.
- Drink lots of water to prevent dehydration and dryness.
- Avoid too much sun exposure. Apply sun block when going out.
- Eat a good, healthy diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Get plenty of rest and sleep.
- Take care not to be in a harshly air-conditioned environment. If you have no choice, keep a glass full of chilled water near you (it is supposed to render moisture).
