During
the 3rd International Mathematics Invitational
Competitions 2007 held in Singapore over the weekend.
The Philippine team was trained by the MTG-Philippines.
Team harvested 11 gold medals, 12 silvers and 21
bronzes.
Winners of the gold medals were Maria Czarina Angela
Lao, Mikaela Uy and Gari Lincoln Chua of St. Jude
Catholic School; Harvey Uy of Xavier School; Sterling
Tiu of St. Stephen’s College; Roselen Vieja, Geovin Uy
and Paul Hao of Chiang Kai Shek College; Carlo Francisco
Adajar of PAREF Southridge School; Rafael Perea of
Philippine Science High School and Wu Zheng Rong of
Zamboanga Chong Hua High School.
Silver medalists were Janina Erica Damian Colegio de San
Agustin; Deany Hendrick Cheng of Grace Christian High
School; Leif Mikael Santelices of Philadelphia High
School; Brendon Matthew Go of Xavier School; Janssen
Lawrence Chan of St. Jude Catholic School; Brian James
Masalunga of Naga Hope Christian School; Kurt Daniel Uy
of St. Jude Catholic School; Earl Alexjeandre Sio Tan of
Xavier School; Lance Co Ting Keh of Philippine Science
High School-Main; Angeline Baniqued of St. Paul College,
Pasig; Jeffrey Go of Xavier SchoolJubilee Christian
Academy.
Dr. Simon Chua, president and co-founder of MTG-Philippines,
said that the medal haul this year was far the most
successful. MTG-Philippines is the group that screens
the Philippines representatives and trains them for the
international competitions.
The Filipino delegation was treated with a tour of
Singapore after the competition. |
