Philippine contenders is going to Seattle, Washington
for the upcoming World Cyber Games in October.
Organizers of the World Cyber Games in the Philippines
have already named the top eight Cyber players who will
represent our country in WCG in Washington.
This eight player has been selected through nationwide
competition and and culmination in the national finals
held two weeks ago in Metro Manila. The participants of
the virtual veterans players who played counterstrike,
World of Warcraft and Need for Speed. But only eight
players survived the competition and they are named as
national champions where each received cash prizes from
Samsung who is the major sponsor as well as other
sponsors.
The eight national champions are Kristofer Romillo,
Arvin Agbisit, Gary Gueverras, EJ Clores and Jupiter
Gaboy (Team Horsemen of the Apocalypse) for
CounterStrike; Tristan Solee for Warcraft III: The
Frozen Throne; Byron Bongon for Starcraft; and Israel
Magante for Need for Speed: Carbon. They will compete
against cyber gamers from the seven continents.
The major sponsor and support for the Philippine Team
Cyber Gamer are Samsung Electronics Philippines
Corporation who has been supporting WCG in the
Philippines and the Philippine E-Sports Entertainment
Network, Inc.
WCG Philippines chief Tjader Regis said that Philippine
cyber athletes will finish strong in the World Cyber
Games and will pave a way for the acceptance of gaming
as a legitimate sporting event here in the Philippines.
Philippine Cyber Athletes will face professional players
from South Korea and Europe who always dominate the
annual tournament. |
