The old Bacolod airport will will have its last scheduled flight on January 17, 2008 and the New Bacolod-Silay Airport will have its first historic landing of the the major airlines on January 18, 2008. The three major airlines namely the Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Air Philippines has already confirmed their normal flight schedule on the province on January 18,2008. Cebu Pacific will land on the New Bacolod-Silay Airport at 5:40 am followed by Philippine Airlines at 6:15 am and Air Philippines at 7:00 am. After this historic landing of this major airlines on the inauguration day, regular flight schedule will resume on January 18.

The flight schedule of the three major airlines was furnished to PIA by the Department of Transportation and Communication. These flight schedule was confirmed by the representatives of the major airlines. But the Department of Transportation and Communication said that the flight schedules may change without prior notice so the clients and customers are advised to confirm their schedule to their respective airlines and travel agents.

Clients are also advised to check in two hours before their flight schedule. The location of this multi-billion pesos New Bacolod-Silay airport is approcimate an hour travel from Bacolod to Barangay Bagtic Silay City but custome are advised to give extra time going to the new airport.
