It all started with a 35,000 PhP donation which has paved the way to help many kids who are in dire need of the money. The donation that became the initial fund of KIDS Foundation came from Australia-based Filipinos who decided to forego gift-giving and donated the money instead. They are Arnie and Antonio Mercado, Rina and Trevor Chand, Dr. Pete Tan and Dr. Andrew Santos. They donated the money to Dr. Rico Sampang who initiated the work to form the KIDS Foundation. This was in 2006 and now the foundation has helped many children.

"Touching children's lives" as Dr. Sampang put it has Doctors Antonio Guzman, Albert Mercado, Anton Victorio Lugue and Fernandita Vergara pitching a helping hand. The foundation has helped 13 children in Pampanga in 2007 and there are still many who are in the waiting list. Dr. Sampang has already been handling indigent patients when the foundation was started. He named the foundation KIDS Foundation or Kids Inspired by their Dream to Survive Foundation.

The KIDS Foundation is still young and is in need of more donors to finance the children's hospital needs. The foundation also does information campaigns at public hospitals to encourage parents to report birth defects and to seek immediately as some congenital problems may be irreversible if not treated properly and promptly like kidney problems.
