Kidney Disease: The Silent Killer
Sunday, March 8th, 2009
Kidney disease is among the top ten leading causes of death. More and more people suffer kidney failure every year and two-thirds of these have undergone dialysis while the other one-third can not afford the treatment.
One of the reasons for the disease’s high mortality rate is that it can go undetected for years with the signs and symptoms emerging only in stage 4 or stage 5. Kidney disease also goes hand in hand with other illness like diabetes, hypertension and anemia.
