Welcome to Cebu, the Queen City of the South! Cebu has been one of premier tourist destinations in the Philippines. This is because Cebu offers everything that tourists and vacationers are looking for. The island is blessed with hospitable and friendly people, breath-taking sceneries, glorious food and beaches that are the envy of other islands. Not only this, for the past decade Cebu is now an international center for furniture making, tourism, business processing services, heavy industry and the fast-growing BPO industry.
Located in central Visayas, Cebu is the center of commerce, trade and industry and education in the Visayas. It has been listed as one of the best island destination in the Indian Ocean-Asia region and in the Asia-Pacific region for many years now. In fact, the Cebu- Mactan International Airport is the second busiest airport in the Philippines with NAIA being the busiest. Cebu is very accessible from any part of the Philippines and the world using land, water and air transportation. Aside from the Cebu-Mactan International Airport, the Cebu International Port is the largest shipping center in the Visayas.
Cebu has only two seasons, the wet and dry season. However, even during the wet season, the rainfall is not very heavy. The dry season is from January to May while the wet season is from June to December.
Cebu is always alive all year through. However, it is during the dry season that the island is virtually teeming with international as well as local visitors. Starting off the year with the world famous Sinulog Festival, Cebu virtually jumps off from one festival to another with its many cities and municipalities having festivals of their own.
Cebu’s numerous festivals are a crowd drawer on their own but the island’s beauty and other tourist destinations can’t be overlooked with its many tourist offerings. From taking a dip in the clear blue waters, lounging in the white sand beaches, scuba diving, diving safaris, day excursions, cave/mountain hiking, snorkeling, island hopping, golfing, night life and touring around the numerous historical areas, Cebu indeed has a lot to offer to tourists and visitors.
Accommodation in Cebu is not a problem because the island is full of hotels, condos, condotels, inns, resorts, apartments and houses for rent. It ranges from 5 star accommodations to the budget-friendly ones. Wining and dining in Cebu is an experience to remember with its numerous restaurants, restobars and diners that offers sumptuous dishes that are served with hospitality inherent to the Filipino people. From international cuisines to local fares, one has only his taste buds as his limits for Cebu dishes it all.
