Siquijor
is one of the beautiful tourist destination here in the
Philippines. Siquijor is called "La Isla del Fuego" or
fire Island, by the Spaniards who first visited this
area in the 16th century. Siquijor is situated on the
crystal clear waters in the central area of the
Philippines. Siquijor is known for it's white-sand
beaches, calm blue waters, shimmering coves, rocky
coasts, and palm fringed beaches.
The unspoiled and beautiful island of Siquijor has so
much to offer to visitors and tourists especially in
diving. It's breathtaking variety of aquatic life and
the splendors of the coral reef formations. The whole
island of Siquijor was declared a marine nature reserve
in 1978 and as such has since become a haven for
Eco-Tourism. Siquijor is surrounded with beautiful
beaches and many of this are unexplored. The waters are
very good for swimming, scuba diving, boating or
fishing. There are many caves in Siquijor that are also
unexplored.
Siquijor is an enchanted island that people are known to
have mysterious magical powers. Magicians, Sorcerers,
even Healers are supposed to get their powers from the
Island, to the delight of many residents.
Siquijor has many points of interest. It has many
attractions that can amuse tourist and visitors.
Siquijor is also full of cultural and historical
heritage that are dated back from the 16th century.
There are no major hotels in Siquijor but thee are
air-conditioned cottages and a small restaurant at a
beach resort so accommodation in Siquijor is not a
problem. |
